Top 10 health tips for employees in the night shift

If you’re reading this means you probably in the night shift. The world will be up & down if you’re in the night shift, you’re going to work while everyone sleeps and vice-versa.
The following are tips for people who are working in the night:

Prepare a time table

Stick to schedule for proper eating and sleeping. It is necessary to sleep at least for 8 hours. In the worst case you need to sleep at least 6 hours for proper functioning body.

Proper Eating Tips
  • Don’t take the breakfast heavily.
  • Working in the night shift makes your body heat, to overcome that you need to have liquids such as butter milk, fruits like water lemons, Cucumber etc., and also you need to have 8 liters of water per day. It is advisable to drink 2 -3 glass of water after you wake up.
  • Try to eat at least a fruit daily and fruit juice.
  • Your lunch, dinner food must be preferred in such a way that food will be digested easily.
  •  Don’t eat fried foods, oily foods which slow down the digestion process.
Sleeping Tips
  • To get sound sleep, keep the room as dark as possible and make the room sound pollution free, so your sleep won’t get distracted.
  • If you’re working from 9 pm to 6 am or 10 pm to 7 pm shift timings, eat breakfast before your sleep because you cannot sleep deeply as you feeling hungry. Try to sleep from 8 am to 3pm.
If you’re unable to sleep then try this:
  • Meditation is the best way which helps you in sleeping. Try meditation for 20 minutes daily so you can control over thoughts.
  • Counting the Numbers from 99 to 50 also helps sleeping.
  • Folding the hands in the below shown way also helps.
  • After trying above tips if you still unsuccessful then try engage yourself in some work like reading books or newspaper. Note: Don’t use mobile, TV or PC because they brightness of the light from those electronics make your eyes uncomfortable
Exercise
Do exercise for minimum of 45 minutes per day. If you are unable to do it daily then it is advisable to workout for at least 3 days in a week.
